As I mentioned above, this 20 block quilt took 3 years to create. Inspirations from many people and events has been woven into this piece.
9. Bali Dancer: I purchased a Sari from the U.A.E. before making this bra, the magazine mentioned had a section dedicated to quilts from this country, and the chain is a necklace from a drug store.
10. Pink Cinnamon: This was the first bra I made for the quilt. I love the color mix of pink and brown.
11. Scottish Flare: This bra was inspired by a Victoria's Secret show many years ago. I have tried several times contacting Victoria's Secret and they have declined my request to have it shown in a display window in one of their shops.
12. Sexy Pink and Black: Again I love the color scheme!
13. Sister Myrna: I knew a lady that belongs to a Sorority.
14. Tiger: Many are a fan of animal prints.
15. African Joy: Fact; many African -American women find lumps in the later stages.
16. Flower Power: Ha, fabric from my old jeans! There is a workable zipper in the front!
17. Blue Ice: Just another fabric I loved!
18. White Ice: Fuzzy fur with pear trim!
19. Daisy Duke: I love the simple and pretty print!
20. Bavarian Brau Frau: Bavaria is a region in southern German. both my parents grew up there.
It's part of my heritage. It is like the front of a german styled dress, with the blouse showing. The straps and buttons came from Austria. I try to go and collect pieces during my travels. The trim and buttons sat in my drawer for a long time, but it was worth the wait. It is now dedicated to my mother who passed in 2016. Bavarian Brau Frau is in translation; Bavarian Beer Lady ... mom did like her beer!
I do want this quilt to travel, if it can help one person along the way, I have done my job!

Here are all the bras named and reasons why they are on the quilt.
1. Pink Ribbon: I wove pink ribbons and added pearl straps, As you know the 'pink ribbon' is the symbol for Breast Cancer.
2. Winter Wonderland: I wanted to create soft and romantic.
3. Think Pink: Quilted pieced of pink ribbon fabric with measuring tape ribbon as straps. It is inspired by the "Better Homes and Gardens" issue, in which, the quilt was made.
4. Feelin' Groovy: Some groovy fabric with a button that says "HOPE" and chain link straps is a reminder of the many women before us who survived and passed away.
5. Paisley: I just loved the fabric with it's many colors!
6. Al's Harley: I knew a gentleman who supported our local support center, suffering with heart disease he felt that women with Breast Cancer was his priority. I have used Harley Davidson fabric and a chain link to created this one.
7. Hot Tomalli: This one is to remind us all that Breast Cancer has no borders. It effects every man and woman.
8. Snow Flake: As mentioned above for this bra, the lady my husband and I met was a 3rd generation survivor. I wanted something a bit different to create the last block. Different texture for sure, so I asked by mom who could knit to make me a knitted rectangle. So lucky to have my mom's loving touch into this quilt.9.
